When You Have Jesus
Scripture reading: Psalm 73:25-26
Worship song: Jesus Is All I Need
Meditation:
You can have everything money can buy and have money in excess, yet you are bankrupt in God's eyes. You can have everything for your comfort, yet you are living in misery. You can be well educated, yet you lack wisdom, and you can have qualifications, yet you are not qualified. True riches, comfort, happiness, and peace are not found in our possessions but are found only in Jesus Christ. Only Jesus can restore hope to the hopeless, and set at liberty those who are bound by the shackles of unhappiness. When God gave us Jesus, he gave us everything. All your earthly possessions cannot be compared to the riches in glory that are stored up for you. When you seek Jesus, goodness and mercy will follow you all through your lifetime. When you seek Jesus first and live by his precept and his will, all things will be granted to you, and He will give you the desires of your heart. When you have Jesus, your life will not be in vain. Jesus will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory because you belong to Him. Those who seek Jesus Christ and drink from his fountain will never thirst spiritually. Jesus Christ is all you need.
Let us pray.
Sovereign God, I worship you, Lord, because you are worthy to be glorified. King of glory, you are all I need, and so, Lord, I just want to be with you, to dwell in your presence and reside in your house all the days of my life. Spirit of the Living God, I come before you with an appetite for spiritual food and therefore beseech you to grant access. Father, divert our attention away from the things that are insignificant and cause us to look to you, Lord. Almighty God, we come to you because we have labor and are heavy-laden with struggles of various kinds. Lord, we toil; we have established ourselves with physical attributes, but God, spiritually, we are broken and need to drink from the fountain of living water. Almighty God, though we have all the earthly possessions we need without you, all is vanity, so Father, we cling to you for sustaining grace and mercy. We cling to you, O God, for you are our bridge over troubled water, our rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valley. We look to you, Lord Jesus, because you are our guiding light, our great physician, our comforter, our shield, and our butler. Almighty God, we seek you because you are our advocate, our redeemer, and the giver of life. Reigning King, you are all we need, and you have all we need, and so God, we ask you to release unto us the peace that passes all understanding and the joy of the Lord through Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.
