He must have heard about Jesus Christ, love, mercy, and compassion towards others and all the miracles that he had performed, for when he heard that Jesus Christ was passing, he shouted desperately, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. The crowd wanted him to keep silent, but he never stopped shouting until the Master heard his cry. Blind Bartimaeus desired to gain his sight, and through his faith, he was made whole.
