Relying on GPS

However, with the use of modern technology, the Global Positioning System (GPS) was started by the United States Department of Defense in 1973. The Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) offer geolocation and time information to a GPS receiver located anywhere on or near the Earth, provided there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more satellites. GPS is made up of three different components, known as segments, that work together to provide location data, velocity, and time information for air, sea, and land travel.
