Restored by God's Grace
Good morning Scripture reading: Numbers 12 Praise song: Your Grace and Mercy Meditation: Miriam and Aaron criticized their younger brother Moses, using his marriage to an Ethiopian woman as a pretext to question his authority. They believed that God spoke through them as much as did through Moses. Their constant utterance against Moses, the chosen servant kindled the wrath of God. Miriam was struck with leprosy and was shut out of the camp. Because she was unable to journey with them in her state, the people had to wait until she recovered and returned to the camp. The rebellious spirit that existed then is still evident in us today, for we sometimes rebel against those who carry out God's work, driven by our own beliefs about their incompetence or their unsuitability for ministry, speaking highly against them to anyone who cares to listen.
