Your Prayer Is Heard

Although their petition was not answered at the time they expected, they continued to serve God faithfully. Elizabeth and Zechariah had likely relinquished hope of having a child due to their advanced age and prolonged infertility. However, after years of persistent prayer, Zacharia's request was finally fulfilled when God blessed him with a uniquely anointed son in his old age. Gabriel not only announced to Zacharias that he would have a son, but also provided a prophetic description of the child's specialized character and destiny.
