Good morning Scripture reading: Joshua 24 Worship song: I will serve thee Meditation: Joshua was concerned about the well-being of the children of Israel and their future commitment to service. He wanted to ensure they were fully aware of their purpose and expectations and that serving the Lord was not an exception. Therefore, he called the congregation together and spoke to them. To encourage and inspire the Israelites for future service unto the Lord, Joshua took time to expound in detail their history and expatiate on what happened throughout the years. He then encouraged them to fear the Lord, put away the foreign gods from among them, and serve the Lord sincerely. Joshua knew the significance of serving the Lord and the consequences the children of Israel would face if they chose to disobey the commandments of the Lord and serve other gods.
