Seeking Validation
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 29:31-35 Worship song: Open the Eyes of My Heart Meditation: In moments of uncertainty, it is common for us to seek validation and approval from others. Leah experienced this deeply, despite being married to Jacob. She faced neglect and a lack of the attention she desired. Despite all her hope and desperate attempts to impress her husband and gain his love, he remains devoted to someone else. Leah eventually redirected her focus from seeking her husband's approval to praising the Lord. Like Leah, we often fall into the trap of being people pleasers, relying on external validation instead of trusting God's unwavering approval. We strive to impress others, and when we don't receive the recognition we seek, we are left feeling rejected.
