Consequences Follow Sin
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Samuel 12 Worship sing: Sinners' Prayer Meditation: The Lord sent Nathan to deliver a prophetic declaration of divine judgment to David in the aftermath of his adultery with Bathsheba and the arranged murder of her husband. While David was forgiven for his sinful deed, he was not exempt from the earthly consequences of his actions. Nathan emphasizes that God bestowed everything upon David, and by his actions, he showed disregard for God's gifts and commands. Because David misused his power and responded to goodness with sinful actions, the Lord decreed that evil would arise from within his own family, bringing affliction to his household. The prophet Nathan declared that the sword would never depart from David's house, resulting in ongoing violence, sexual immorality, and brutal death among his children.
