Yet, in her deepest struggle, the rulers of the synagogue offered no comfort, only rigid rules. But where religious leaders saw an inconvenience, Jesus saw a daughter of God. With a heart of pure compassion, He shattered her chains and set her free from her infirmities. Her liberation angered the synagogue leaders who expressed deep resentment, demonstrating that they valued their religious traditions over a human being's miraculous healing. I n this self-centered society, so frequently, individuals' desire for personal comfort keeps them from noticing the struggles of the hurting people before their very eyes.
