Good morning Scripture reading: Esther 5 Praise song: Small Axe Meditation: When King Ahasuerus promoted Haman and set him above all the princes with him, all the servants at the king's gate bowed in reverence to Haman except Mordecai (Esther 3:1-2). Haman tried everything to persuade Mordecai to bow before him but failed, and therefore he despised him. Consumed by his hatred, Haman sought ways to destroy Mordecai and all the Jews (vs 4-6). He was so consumed by hatred and desire to destroy Mordecai that he listened to the advice of those whose hearts were just as evil as his (7-15). Misery loves company, but evil counsel breeds destruction. Haman's conspiracy against Mordecai took a dramatic turn. Instead of destroying Mordecai, Mordecai was honored.
