When God Acts
Good morning Scripture reading: Numbers 12 Worship song: I'll Walk in Faith Meditation: Driven by jealousy, Miriam and Aaron sinned by challenging the authority of Moses, whom God had specifically chosen. By attacking his leadership and marriage, they challenged God's direct appointment. God responded with fury, forcing them to acknowledge the deep and personal relationship he had with Moses. God is warning against hindering or oppressing those He has designated for a special purpose, asserting that attacking them is attacking Him. We are warned in 1 Chronicles 16 and Psalm 105 not to lay a hand on those whom the Lord has set apart for himself. Despite Miriam's act of rebellion, Moses's compassionate intercession secured her healing and restoration, but not before she endured a week of divine punishment outside the camp.
