Vested with the Authority
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 10:18-20 Worship song: Step On The Enemy Meditation: Jesus gave his disciples authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and to overcome the power of their enemies. The same power is also given to believers, and we have the right and are at liberty to exercise this authority over serpents and every enemy. Revelation 12 tells us that the serpent is Satan and his cohorts of darkness, working together to deceive the whole world. However, we have no reason to be dismayed or discouraged for God has given us the authority to defeat our enemies. God has given greater power to the seed of a woman. The seed of the woman is the children of God, those who believe and accept Jesus Christ, and the seed of the enemy is Satan and those working along with him to defeat believers.
