Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matthew 2:1-16 Worship song: Hide Me Under Your Blood   Meditation:      King Herod and the citizens of Jerusalem were profoundly disturbed upon hearing the wise men's announcement of the birth of the future king. Herod promptly summoned the religious leaders together to find the precise location prophesied as the birthplace of the Messiah, not out of a desire to honour or worship the child, but to eliminate Him under the pretence of reverence. He was terrified that the newborn, proclaimed king of the Jews, would dethrone him.
