The Spirit of Fear
Good morning Scripture reading: Philippians 4:6-7 Worship song: Fear is a Liar Meditation: Every day, we confront fear, and if we let it overwhelm us, it can rob us of our joy and peace. Fear is defined as the emotional response to an imminent or perceived threat of danger, pain, or evil, frequently resulting in feelings of worry and discomfort. This fear, which causes people to doubt God's power and faithfulness, is not from God but is considered a human limitation. God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. Fear will keep us from fulfilling our responsibilities and prevent us from doing the will of God. The word of God reminds us in Isaiah 41:10 to fear not and be not dismayed, for God is with us; he will strengthen, help, and uphold us with his righteous right hand.
