God Still Provides
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Kings 17:1-16 Worship Song: Make a way Meditation: Today, we reflect on the powerful story of Elijah the Tishbite, who boldly declared the prophecy that there would be no rain or dew upon the land for three and a half years. Following that proclamation, the Lord told him to depart eastward and hide himself by the brook Cherith, and he would sustain him. Elijah obeyed the Lord's command, and God honoured his promise. Elijah found himself in a situation where he had no choice but to depend on God. We further learned that after the brook dried due to the famine, God instructed Elijah to proceed to Zarephath, where a widow had been commanded to sustain him with food. From this scripture, we learned the significance of obedience and complete dependence on the Lord. Elijah's compliance with God's directives resulted in the fulfillment of his promise made to Elijah.
