The Bread That Sustains
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 6:35-40 Worship song: Bread of Life Meditation: The bread that Jesus offers us cannot be purchased with money, nor is it found in a bakery. No earthly ingredients combined can produce this bread. This bread is not a product of earthly means but a divine provision symbolizing Jesus Christ himself. Speaking to the multitude and his disciples, Jesus boldly identifies himself as the bread of life. He said, I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man partakes of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Jesus is the bread of life, sustaining and nourishing us spiritually. Jesus promised that those who come to him, their spiritual hunger will be satisfied, and their thirsty soul will be quenched.
