Good morning Scripture: Genesis 39:1-21 Worship song: In the valley Meditation: The life of Joseph powerfully demonstrated God's sovereignty and grace for those who live faithfully and righteously. Joseph was divinely protected. Despite being sold to the slave traders, the favor of the Lord was upon him. God would have it that Joseph would be favored by his master, be promoted from a slave to a manager/overseer of Pharaoh's estate and household. As Joseph served faithfully and sincerely, the enemy plotted against him. Daily Joseph was tempted by his master's wife as she tried to beguile him to commit a forbidden act and to sin against God. Yet, Joseph stood firm and resisted. When she realized that Joseph would not yield, she became angry and lied to her husband, leading to Joseph's imprisonment.
