Whatever The Outcome

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Habakkuk 3:17-19 Worship song: Through It All   Meditation:      The prophet Habakkuk committed to rejoice in the Lord and the God of his salvation, even when his material possessions were lacking, and circumstances were adverse. His decision is a powerful declaration of faith, affirming that true joy and spiritual strength come from God and are not dependent on eternal circumstances. Habakkuk demonstrates that even when all earthly resources are depleted, he will continue to rejoice in the Lord, choosing to trust God’s sovereignty over his own struggles.       This is echoed by Apostle Paul who encourages us to always rejoice in the Lord, even if we have nothing. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, says Isaiah, and my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, and covered me with the robe of righteousness. When you encounter God, your happiness is no longer dete...

Lifeline for Christians

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Psalm 107: 23-30 Hymn: Throw Out The Lifeline   Meditation:      A lifeline is more than just an object, it represents a vital connection that offers hope and an escape from challenging circumstances. Countless testimonies attest to individuals being miraculously rescued from perilous storms, illustrating that Jesus Christ is our ultimate lifeline and redeemer. He is always present, prepared to deliver us from all danger; however, we must reach out to Him. Just as a drowning person grasps at anything that might save them, we too must hold tightly to Jesus, who can rescue us from the dark realm of sin.       Many have been rescued from the path of destruction by Jesus Christ, and are now living under the grace of His salvation. Are you feeling lost, drifting further into the wilderness of sin? Do not hesitate; hold on to the lifeline and be delivered from the winds of temptation, and the waves of unrighteou...

Peace be still

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Mark 4:35-41 Worship song: Be Still and Know   Meditation:      The disciples walked alongside Jesus as he taught, healed, and performed miracles. They witnessed his supernatural power, yet amid a raging tempest, fear gripped them as the storm intensified. In that moment of terror, their hope of survival seems impossible due to the sudden threat of danger. Their frantic cries woke the master, and he immediately commanded the wind and waves to cease, restoring total calm. The storm took the disciples by surprise, leaving them totally unprepared.       Throughout history, life has been filled with diverse storms that have caused many of us to live in despair and anxiety. While we cannot avoid the storms of life, we can conquer our circumstances when we invite Jesus into our lives. We must willingly welcome Jesus into our hearts and he will silence the raging seas and command the boisterous winds to be still....

Will Not Inherit The Kingdom

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11 Praise song: Change My Heart Oh God   Meditation:      Paul warns the church not to be deceived, listing behaviors that are incompatible with belonging to God's kingdom. He highlights that individuals whose lives are characterized by persistent, unrepentant sin, including sexual immorality, idolatry, greed, and malice etc. will not inherit or belong to God's kingdom. Those who seek to fulfill the desires of the flesh, living to please and satisfy the self rather than the creator will miss this inheritance.       Based on his teachings, one would get the understanding that the believers were not fully aware as to who would inherit the Kingdom of God. Paul warns the church not to be deceived, for the unrighteous and the ungodly will not inherit God's Kingdom. The context of this passage emphasizes that the continuous pursuit of the desires of the flesh and the refusal to accept Jesus Ch...

Routine Worship

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St  Luke 4:16 Worship song: Like The Dew Meditation:      It is customary for believers in Christ to gather in synagogues and places of worship at least once weekly to fellowship, praise, and honour God, our Creator. These religious practices, if performed without genuine desire and heart engagement, can become mere routines, detached from a life pleasing to God and a desire to glorify and submit to Him. Matthew 15:8 serves as a reminder that the outward expression of faith must align with a heart that is connected to God.       When worship becomes a rigid routine, we become spiritually complacent, prioritizing empty tradition over a genuine and deepening connection with God. Our prayer life becomes mere utterance from lips with no inclination from the Holy Spirit. We read the word of God, but lack the wisdom to comprehend and grasp its contents. We worship in the spur of the moment, but it is without joy and gladn...

Dwelling in a Foreign Land

Image
Good morning  Scripture reading: Exodus 12:37-42 Worship song: Faithful Pilgrim Meditation:        The Lord God revealed to Abram in a vision that his descendants would become immigrants in a foreign land and would be mistreated for four hundred (400) years  Subsequently, He would send a deliverer to rescue them from bondage. God assured Abram that after this period, He would deliver them from their oppressors, and they would leave that country with great possessions. The events that transpired following Joseph's injustice and hardship laid the foundation for the circumstances leading to the Israelites' enslavement in Egypt.        After Joseph's death, the Israelites in Egypt continued to experience abundant growth and prosperity. However, a new Pharaoh, who did not know Joseph, ascended to power. Concerned about their increasing numbers and strength, he enslaved them, compelling them to build cities and labor under harsh conditions. Th...

Saving The Loss

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 15:1-7 Worship song: Ninety And Nine Meditation:     After an extensive search for a misplaced document of significant importance, I experienced overwhelming frustration and anxiety. Ultimately, I decided to discontinue the search and reluctantly accepted the possibility of its loss, although I remain hopeful. Reflecting on this experience, I contemplate the Lord's feelings when those he loves turn away and refuse to surrender. When we resist his call, we must remember that we are precious and valuable in God's sight, and his love is unconditional. His desire is for us to renounce our sinful ways and seek Him earnestly. God takes no pleasure in the demise of the ungodly and does not wish for anyone to perish in their transgressions.    Our Savior stands ready to shepherd us out of the wilderness of sin and toward spiritual safety. God is always prepared to extend his loving arms to restore wandering souls to himself. Are you a...

God Still Provides

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Kings 17:1-16 Worship Song: Make a way   Meditation:      Today, we reflect on the powerful story of Elijah the Tishbite, who boldly declared the prophecy that there would be no rain or dew upon the land for three and a half years. Following that proclamation, the Lord told him to depart eastward and hide himself by the brook Cherith, and he would sustain him. Elijah obeyed the Lord's command, and God honoured his promise. Elijah found himself in a situation where he had no choice but to depend on God.       We further learned that after the brook dried due to the famine, God instructed Elijah to proceed to Zarephath, where a widow had been commanded to sustain him with food. From this scripture, we learned the significance of obedience and complete dependence on the Lord. Elijah's compliance with God's directives resulted in the fulfillment of his promise made to Elijah. Through Elijah's obedience and u...

Justified by His Blood

Image
Good Morning Scripture Reading: Romans 5 Worship Song: O The Blood   Meditation:      To be justified means to have a solid, just, and reasonable foundation. This is clearly demonstrated in the powerful narrative of Jesus Christ, who assumed the role of Savior and Mediator for sinners. Jesus's atonement on the cross was not random, but deliberate, justified, and essential to satisfy divine justice for sinners. His unconditional love and compassion led him to Calvary, where He willingly laid down his life to redeem and free us from bondage.       Before Christ, we were separated from God, living as enemies in our sinful nature. Through Christ, we are reconciled. Sin and holiness do not coexist; therefore, to enter the presence of a Holy God, we must undergo a process of sanctification. Only through Jesus Christ can we be sanctified by the renewing of our minds and the purification of our hearts. Jesus Christ died for all sinners, but rede...

Resolve Issues among Brethren

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 6:1-7 Worship song: Judge of the Secrets   Meditation:      The Apostle Paul addresses the issue of dispute among Christians, instructing believers to resolve internal disagreements within the church community rather than before unrighteous judges. Paul underscores that even the least esteemed member of the church should possess sufficient wisdom to manage disputes, instead of resorting to secular courts before non-believers.  Paul urges Christians to judge minor cases among themselves, emphasizing that believers, who are destined to share in Christ's future role if judging angels and the world, possess the wisdom necessary to handle minor disputes internally. He argues that rather than seeking reconciliation in a secular court before unbelievers, Christians should accept losses or endure wrong to preserve peace and uphold the reputation of the church, thereby demonstrating spiritual maturity and sacri...

How Genuine Is Your Love?

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 21:15-22 Worship song: Lovest Thou Me   Meditation:      Jesus posed a profound question to Peter not once but three times. This interaction was pivotal, as it allowed Jesus to reaffirm Peter's love and reestablish his ministerial role as a shepherd to his people. Jesus was impressing upon Peter the significance of his new role, emphasizing the vital importance of caring for the flock of Christ. Even though Peter denied Jesus three times, that did not alter the love of Jesus Christ for Peter, nor did Jesus love him any less.       To truly serve in ministry any person to serve effectively in ministry, needs to possess genuine love, compassion, mercy, and a caring heart for others, fueled by a deep love for Jesus Christ. Only with this love can we effectively administer care to those we are called to serve. This emotional and heartfelt interaction Jesus had with Peter serves as a reminder of t...

Conquering Rejection

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matthew 13: 53-58 Worship song: Cry of the Broken   Meditation:      The fear of rejection is an obstacle that can paralyze our mental state. It has the potential to influence our identity and hinder our progress toward fulfilling our divine purpose. The fear of rejection may lead an individual to avoid situations that could result in rejection. Although you cannot prevent rejection, it can be overcome. Overcoming rejection depends on your beliefs, what you accept, and your interpretation of others' views and opinions. It is possible to dismantle the stronghold of rejection by acknowledging and embracing God's declarations about your identity and who you are in Christ. Recognizing and accepting that God fearfully and wonderfully makes you in his likeness and image, loved, valued, and accepted by Him, can quell the spirit of rejection.       Whenever you feel rejected, do not take it personally and do n...

The trial

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matt 26 & 27 Worship song: Mercy walked in   Meditation:      Miscarriages of justice and errors of impunity can erode public trust in the criminal justice system and have devastating consequences for individuals, families, and society. There are persons imprisoned, who are wrongfully convicted because of a miscarriage of justice, and there are criminals who are freed because of errors of impunity.       Over 2000 years ago, a false accusation led to the arrest, trial, conviction, and ultimately crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Although he was blameless, full of kindness, compassion, and love, and had no criminal record, he was unjustly condemned to die. Evil intentions were ultimately overruled by divine providence, transforming his death into a means of universal salvation. This was the appointed moment for God to fulfill His pledge, providing a way of salvation for all mankind.     ...

Bless And Curse Not

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 6:27-28 Worship song: The Jesus Way   Meditation:      Jesus highlights four essential principles in His teachings: love, prayer, blessing others, and doing good. Among His most profound teachings is the call to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who spitefully use us. It is vital that, as children of God, we adhere to Jesus' teachings. His instructions are designed to edify us and help us establish a relationship with him that manifests love for one another. Jesus reminds us that not everyone will love us, bless us, and do good unto us.       Nevertheless, we are called to demonstrate love, bless, pray, and do good unto them. Instead of retaliating against those who harm us, we are encouraged to show love, compassion, and kindness to them. We must relinquish any grudges or resentment against those who wronged us. Loving and forgiving our e...

Sharing the Journey

Image
Good morning Day of Testimony- The Good Old Days But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19   Worship song: Make A Way   Meditation:      Reflecting on my childhood, I   realize that the ability to make the best of a situation constitutes true happiness, rather than merely possessing the best of everything. We did not have much, but we were satisfied and sincerely grateful. On some nights, we had no dinner, and sometimes breakfast was merely dumplings roasted over coal, served with lime leaf tea. To us, lotion was coconut oil, and charcoal was toothpaste. Despite being stuffed with grass and dried banana leaves in flour sacks, our bed was surprisingly comfortable. We spent our evenings playing outdoors until dusk, after which we would gather on the floor, sharing stories by the flickering light of a makeshift kerosene bottle torch. That was a period when families genuinely connected...

Thanksgiving

Image
Good morning   Day of prayer - Thanksgiving Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4 Worship song: Give Thanks   Let us pray:      Sovereign Lord, we acknowledge that none can compare to your matchless worth. You are God alone; no foreign deity nor Baal-zebub, can reign in your stead. This morning I praise you, O God, and worship you as the Almighty, powerful, omnipresent creator of the universe. You are King of all kings and Lord of all lords, the great I am, the Prince of peace, and our Redeeming King. You are worthy, Lord, and deserving of all praise. We are profoundly grateful to you, Lord, for your indescribable gift, which grants us access to the throne of grace.       We thank you wholeheartedly, Lord God, for Your redeeming blood, and Your unconditional, steadfast love that endures forever. We thank you, Lord God, for your faithfulness...

My Rock and My Fortress

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Samuel 22:1-22 Worship song: Build My Life   Meditation:      King David offered a powerful testimony reflecting on God's unwavering faithfulness in responding to his calls during a distressful period. To highlight his gratitude for God's divine protection, King David recited a victorious psalm of celebration, praising God for delivering him from all his adversaries and dispersing those too mighty for him, including Saul. David glorified God recognizing Him as his fortress, rock, deliverer, shield, refuge, Savior, high tower, and the horn of his salvation.       D avid's acknowledgment and appreciation for God's divine interception of the enemy's strategies should motivate us and cause us to reflect on the divine work of God in our own lives, prompting us to offer sacrificial praises for God's protection and strength. We too must acknowledge God as our rock and fortress, our strong tower and deliverer. J...

Trademark of Greatness

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matthew 18:1-4 Worship sing: The Greatness of Our God   Meditation:      According to Merriam-Webster, greatness is defined as the quality of being distinguished, or exceptionally skilled, often characterized by superior achievement, impact, or magnitude. It signifies possessing remarkable ability, holding a high rank, or demonstrating outstanding importance, distinction, and influence in a specific field, such as leadership, art, or service. However, from a biblical perspective, the concept of greatness differs from the worldly interpretation.       Jesus teaches that true greatness is exemplified by becoming a servant, distinguished by love, sacrifice, and character, often demonstrated by prioritizing others. The disciples' curiosity led them to enquire who was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus response likely came as a surprise when he stated that whoever humbles himself as a little ...

Bound For Higher Ground

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 12-13 Hymn: God Will Take Care Of You Medita tion:      Abram's story exemplified his unwavering faith and obedience to God, despite encountering numerous trials and challenges. Abram, whose name was later changed to Abraham, was directed to leave Haran and journey to Canaan, the land of promise. He did not question God's plan; rather he obeyed and departed from his hometown, taking his family and nephew with him. Abram's journey was never without challenges. Being sent by God does not mean you will not encounter any hardship, but God promises He will take care of you.       In Canaan, an unforeseen famine struck, prompting Abraham to flee and sojourn in Egypt to escape the devastating impact of the widespread food shortage. Despite beginning with limited wealth in Haran, by the time he departed Egypt, Abraham had accumulated significant wealth in cattle, gold, and silver. Success is seldom achieved witho...

Walking By Faiths

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Hebrews 11 Praise song: Come This Far By Faith   Meditation:      Faith is the firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof. According to biblical teachings, faith involves placing trust and confidence in God, believing that He will acknowledge His promises. In Hebrews 11, the patriarchs of faith from the Old Testament obtained a good report by trusting in God's promises. Upon accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, our faith journey commences.       Faith is essential to the Christian life; for without faith we cannot please God. It is vital for our spiritual development that we cultivate a strong relationship with God by trusting in His plans and believing His promises. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths. By actively exercising faith, you will be able to overcome your ...

Why Do You Persecute Me?

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Job 19 Worship Song: You've Already Won   Meditation:      During a critical period in Job's life when he required support from those most dear to him including family and friends, they abandoned him and became like enemies. Job lamented that his close friends hated him and those he loved turned their backs on him. They forsook their duty of loyalty, leaving him feeling completely isolated. In his distress and despair, Job endured relentless and harsh accusations from those who came to comfort him. Job perceives God as his persecutor, bringing destruction upon his life and stripping him of his dignity, rendering life’s journey dark and hopeless.       Despite these circumstances, Job maintains unwavering faith, declaring that he knows his Redeemer lives and that he will stand on the earth. He believes that even after his skin is destroyed, he will see God in his flesh. He profoundly affirms that death is n...

Laying the Foundation

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 1:67-80 Worship song: Prepare The Way   Meditation:      Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost and prophesied that his son, John the Baptist would go before the Messiah to prepare the way of salvation by guiding individuals to repent for the remission of their sins. Zacharias rejoiced, acknowledging that the Lord had raised a horn of salvation from the royal lineage of King David to deliver His people from their enemies, sin, and death.       Zacharias emphasizes the core missions that his son would fulfil: to bring hope, comfort, and salvation; to inform people that salvation is found in the remission of sins; to shine spiritual light and truth upon those living in darkness and hopelessness, providing hope amidst death and fear; and to guide people towards peace with God. These missions are divinely designed to lead individuals towards a peaceful and secure relationship with God.  ...

Prioritizing God's Command

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Samuel 13: 9-14 & Acts 13:22 Worship song: Running Back To You   Meditation:      The Lord identified King David as a man after His own heart, not because he was perfect, but because his deepest desires aligned with God's ways. He was motivated by a commitment to fulfill God's divine purpose and adhere to the Lord's requirements. David was a devoted worshipper who, even after serious moral failings, did not justify his actions but instead returned to God with a contrite and broken heart. When confronted with sin, David promptly repented. His willingness to seek forgiveness immediately after being rebuked by the prophet Nathan differentiates him from others, such as King Saul.       David authored several penitential Psalms emphasizing repentance, confession, seeking God's mercy, and inward cleansing. Acknowledging that he sinned against God, David petitioned for God's mercy according to His lovingkin...

Consequences Follow Sin

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Samuel 12 Worship sing: Sinners' Prayer   Meditation:      The Lord sent Nathan to deliver a prophetic declaration of divine judgment to David in the aftermath of his adultery with Bathsheba and the arranged murder of her husband. While David was forgiven for his sinful deed, he was not exempt from the earthly consequences of his actions. Nathan emphasizes that God bestowed everything upon David, and by his actions, he showed disregard for God's gifts and commands.       Because David misused his power and responded to goodness with sinful actions, the Lord decreed that evil would arise from within his own family, bringing affliction to his household. The prophet Nathan declared that the sword would never depart from David's house, resulting in ongoing violence, sexual immorality, and brutal death among his children. We are reminded in Galatians 6:7-9 that pursuing selfish, worldly desires leads to ...

Walking in Obedience

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 John 1 Worship song: Walk in Truth and Love   Meditation:      In his second epistle, Apostle John commended a local congregation for walking in the truth of the gospel. Although they were already abiding by the truth, he strongly encouraged them to continue walking in love by adhering to God’s commandments. Emphasizing Love and compassion towards others is a fundamental aspect of obeying God's commandments. The Apostle Paul warned the church to remain vigilant and fully aware of the deceivers who deny that Jesus came in the flesh.       He cautioned against welcoming or entertaining individuals who reject the truth about Jesus and his ministry. Paul affirms that offering hospitality or encouragement to deceivers is to partner in their corrupt deeds. Furthermore, he urged believers to maintain the spiritual foundation they have established and the blessings they have obtained through faithful servic...

Not For The Righteous

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matthew 9:10-13 Worship song: Run To The Father   Meditation:      The Pharisees criticized Jesus' association with people they deemed undesirable questioning why a religious teacher would dine with the outcast and the marginalized. Jesus frequently dined with these groups to demonstrate that His ministry was intended for the broken, outcasts, sinners, and those in need of spiritual healing. What the Pharisees overlooked was that   Jesus' ministry was for sinners and outcasts, not for those who claim to be righteous. Jesus affirms that his ministry offers spiritual healing and repentance to those who acknowledge their need for it.       Three different groups are emphasized: the Publicans, despised Jewish tax collectors working for Rome and regarded as traitors; the sinners who broke Jewish moral laws; and the Pharisees, who were self-righteous and believed they did not need to repent. Jesus used ...

Undignified Worship

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Samuel 6:14-23 Worship song: Undignified   Meditation:      Unknown to David, his wife, Michal, the daughter of King Saul, secretly observed him dancing joyfully before the Lord. However, her heart was filled with bitterness, and she despised him, perceiving his behavior as vulgar and lacking royal dignity. She mocked him for appearing in public wearing only a simple linen ephod instead of his kingly attire. David's sincere devotion and heartfelt worship were directed solely to the Lord, who chose him over Saul's house. He committed to disregarding his kingly dignity entirely, prioritizing God's honor above his own reputation.       David's undignified worship exemplifies passionate, unrestrained praise that emphasizes honoring God over maintaining public esteem or personal dignity. As a result of her prideful and judgmental attitude, Michal remained barren. While Michal was preoccupied with externa...

Relying on GPS

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Proverbs 3:5-6 Meditation Song: Show Me Your Ways   Meditation:      Centuries ago, travelers depended on maps and compasses for navigation. However, with the use of modern technology, the Global Positioning System (GPS) was started by the United States Department of Defense in 1973. The Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) offer geolocation and time information to a GPS receiver located anywhere on or near the Earth, provided there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more satellites. GPS is made up of three different components, known as segments, that work together to provide location data, velocity, and time information for air, sea, and land travel.       Despite human inventions, none are as effective and accurate as our Lord. The most superior GPS available that will never lose its signal is God's plan of Salvation (GPS). For this GPS to function, one must establish a connection with Je...

That Little Fox

Image
Good Morning   Scripture reading: Song of Solomon 2:15 Worship song: Here's My Heart Lord   Meditation:      King Solomon cautions us to address the minor transgressions before they ruin the vines that bear tender grapes. These small wrongdoings are detrimental as they attack the roots and stems, which are the lifeline of the plant. The little foxes symbolize sins that burrow into our lives, the sins we neglect to confront. They represent the works of the flesh that oppose the fruit of the Spirit. These seemingly insignificant acts that we disregard, the deceptions and lies that we accept may appear harmless yet have the potential to cause significant damage to our spiritual well-being.       Ignoring habitual sins paves the way to greater offenses, eroding character and stunting spiritual growth. Just as a tiny spark can kindle a large fire so too a small willful sin defiles the conscience. Be vigilant of the little foxes lurking i...

Seek Advice From The Right Source

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Kings 1 Worship song: Same Power   Meditation:      Acting on divine command delivered by an angel, Prophet Elijah stopped the messenger sent by King Ahaziah to inform him of the king's fate for defying the God of Israel. King Ahaziah’s decision to consult the god Baal-zebub concerning his health, rather than seeking divine assistance from the God of Israel resulted in a divine judgment that determined his destiny. The king failed to seek healing from the only God who is capable of restoring his health. He demonstrated a lack of faith and disregard for God's sovereignty and Omnipotent power choosing instead to trust the advice of baal gods.       We are cautioned in Leviticus 19 to avoid those who possess familiar spirits and refrain from seeking after wizards because they will defile us spiritually. Additionally,   Deuteronomy 18 forbids consulting familiar spirits and wizards, considering the...
