Will Not Inherit The Kingdom

Good morning

Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11

Praise song: Change My Heart Oh God

Meditation:

Paul warns the church not to be deceived, listing behaviors that are incompatible with belonging to God's kingdom. He highlights that individuals whose lives are characterized by persistent, unrepentant sin, including sexual immorality, idolatry, greed, and malice etc. will not inherit or belong to God's kingdom. Those who seek to fulfill the desires of the flesh, living to please and satisfy the self rather than the creator will miss this inheritance.

Based on his teachings, one would get the understanding that the believers were not fully aware as to who would inherit the Kingdom of God. Paul warns the church not to be deceived, for the unrighteous and the ungodly will not inherit God's Kingdom. The context of this passage emphasizes that the continuous pursuit of the desires of the flesh and the refusal to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour can lead to perishing in our trespasses and sins. Pursue righteousness, serve God, and obey His precepts and commands so that you will be numbered among the inheritors of His Kingdom. If you feel God calling to you, stay open and obedient.

Let us pray:

Sovereign God, blessed redeemer and friend, I am extremely grateful for your tender mercies and unconditional love towards us. Father, we thank you for your gift of salvation, asking for your grace to assist us in living worthy of the inheritance we have in Christ. I pray, O God, that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we will continue to shun the appearances of evil and walk the path of righteousness and holiness daily. Father, when our flesh becomes weak, empower us with your supernatural strength. Where there is weakness, O God, strengthen us; where there is self-will, incline our hearts to seek after righteousness and where we lack understanding, grant us wisdom, lest we falter and turn away from following after you. Grant us, divine patience to run this race in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a wonderful day. 👏🙌🙏
