Call Upon The Lord
Good morning
Scripture reading: Psalm 18:1-6
Worship song: Hear My Cry, Oh Lord
Meditation:
Whom do you call upon in times of trouble, and to whom do you express gratitude when you are victorious?
During a time of profound distress, fear, and adversity, David trusted God to rescue, deliver, protect, and preserve him from those who rose against him. He relied solely on God to deliver him from those who sought to destroy him. After being delivered from the hand of Saul and his enemies, David lifted his voice in a song of gratitude to the Lord. It is wise to bring our challenges to God first and turn to prayer before speaking with others. When the righteous cry out, the Lord hears them and delivers them from all their troubles.
Although David was afraid, he was not dismayed, for he trusted God to uphold him with His righteous right hand. He joyfully declared his intention to pray fervently and call upon the Lord, who is worthy of praise.
Paul's affirmation in 2 Timothy 4 encourages us that
the Lord will deliver us from evil and bring us safely into His heavenly
kingdom. Call upon the Lord, present your
petitions to Him, and praise Him for His mighty power. Let us enter into God’s
presence with thanksgiving, rejoicing in His goodness and celebrating His
everlasting mercy.
Let us pray:
Everlasting Father, we enter Your presence with thanksgiving
and praise for Your wondrous works, Your loving kindness, and the mercies that
endure forever. We lift our voices in adoration and magnify Your holy name, for
You alone are worthy of our highest praise. We praise You, Lord, for Your
compassion and the works of Your hands. Lord, we are comforted by the assurance
that You continue to protect, preserve, and deliver Your people from the plots,
schemes, and deceptive plans of the adversary. You are our help and our
salvation, O Lord; we hasten to You for deliverance. Lord, You are our refuge
and our fortress; in You alone we place our trust. Hide us, O God, in Your
secret dwelling place, and shelter us from the adversary. In the matchless name
of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed day. 👏🙌🙏
