Among the most profound teachings of Jesus is the call to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless the ones who curse us, and pray for those who despitefully use us. It is essential that as children of God, we conform to God's teachings. His teachings are geared to edify us and help us establish a relationship with him that demonstrates love for one another. Jesus is reminding us that not everyone will love us, bless us, and do good unto us. Nevertheless, despite our affliction at the hands of our enemies, we should show love, bless, pray, and do good unto them.
