A State of Contentment
Good morning Scripture reading: Job 1:13-22 Worship song: Give Me Jesus Meditation: (repost) What would you do, and how would you cope if you lost all your earthly possessions and all that you have accomplished in one day? Few people can truly say they have experienced a loss as profound and devastating as that described in the Book of Job. The mere thought of losing one's entire life's work, financial security, and cherished belongings is truly terrifying. Upon learning he had lost everything, Job demonstrated his grief by tearing his robe and shaving his head, and then fell to the ground to worship God, acknowledging that all he had was from God and would be returned to Him. The fact that Job did not blame or curse God but instead bowed down and worshipped him speaks highly of his faith, trust, love, and the relationship he had with God.
