Resolve Issues among Brethren

Good morning

Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 6:1-7

Worship song: Judge of the Secrets

Meditation:

The Apostle Paul addresses the issue of dispute among Christians, instructing believers to resolve internal disagreements within the church community rather than before unrighteous judges. Paul underscores that even the least esteemed member of the church should possess sufficient wisdom to manage disputes, instead of resorting to secular courts before non-believers.

Paul urges Christians to judge minor cases among themselves, emphasizing that believers, who are destined to share in Christ's future role if judging angels and the world, possess the wisdom necessary to handle minor disputes internally. He argues that rather than seeking reconciliation in a secular court before unbelievers, Christians should accept losses or endure wrong to preserve peace and uphold the reputation of the church, thereby demonstrating spiritual maturity and sacrificial love.

Hence, we are called to exercise our divine authority and employ God-given wisdom to address matters within the church with peace and love, rather than airing them before unbelievers.

Let us pray:

Almighty God, we thank you for your profound word which guides our actions and provides insight into our responsibilities. We seek your forgiveness, O God, for our tendency to seek counsel from unbelievers regarding internal disputes instead of seeking counsel from the church community. Help us, Lord, to exercise wisdom in trivial matters through sacrificial love, spiritual maturity, and caution, recognizing that our words and actions can impact the reputation of your church. Teach us, Almighty God, to resolve conflicts peacefully and handle all matters in accordance with your laws and teachings. Bind us, O God, with unbreakable chords and help us to demonstrate love for one another, acknowledging that we are members of the body of Christ. Father, we commit disputes and trivial matters to you, praying for deliverance from the sins and obstacles that easily beset us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have an awesome day. 👏💕🙏🙌
