Why Do You Persecute Me?

Good morning

Scripture reading: Job 19

Worship Song: You've Already Won

Meditation:

During a critical period in Job's life when he required support from those most dear to him including family and friends, they abandoned him and became like enemies. Job lamented that his close friends hated him and those he loved turned their backs on him. They forsook their duty of loyalty, leaving him feeling completely isolated. In his distress and despair, Job endured relentless and harsh accusations from those who came to comfort him. Job perceives God as his persecutor, bringing destruction upon his life and stripping him of his dignity, rendering life’s journey dark and hopeless.

Despite these circumstances, Job maintains unwavering faith, declaring that he knows his Redeemer lives and that he will stand on the earth. He believes that even after his skin is destroyed, he will see God in his flesh. He profoundly affirms that death is not the end but that he will be resurrected to meet his Redeemer. Although Job faced persecution, abandonment, and unjust accusations, he persisted in faith and was exceedingly blessed. His health and wealth were restored far exceeding his original state. No matter what your circumstances, remain faithful and do not lose hope, as your struggles are temporary while God's promises are eternal.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we thank you for another demonstration of a servant with unwavering faith and profound dedication to remain hopeful despite abandonment, persecution, and despair. May we stay loyal and faithful to you, O God, assured by your promise never to leave or forsake us. Abba Father, we seek your divine assistance to remain steadfast amid difficulties and uncertainties. We pray, O God, that you strengthen us to remain faithful and loyal to Christ, holding fast to the truth that any hardship we encounter is merely temporary compared to the eternal glory to come. May we confidently declare, like Job, that our Redeemer lives and that we will behold him on the day of resurrection. Father, align our hearts with your will, guide our steps, and reveal your purpose in every circumstance through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a day filled with joy. ✌💕🙏
