Bound For Higher Ground
Good morning
Scripture reading: Genesis 12-13
Hymn: God Will Take Care Of You
Meditation:
Abram's story exemplified his unwavering faith and obedience to God, despite encountering numerous trials and challenges. Abram, whose name was later changed to Abraham, was directed to leave Haran and journey to Canaan, the land of promise. He did not question God's plan; rather he obeyed and departed from his hometown, taking his family and nephew with him. Abram's journey was never without challenges. Being sent by God does not mean you will not encounter any hardship, but God promises He will take care of you.
In
Canaan, an unforeseen famine struck, prompting Abraham to flee and sojourn in
Egypt to escape the devastating impact of the widespread food shortage. Despite
beginning with limited wealth in Haran, by the time he departed Egypt, Abraham
had accumulated significant wealth in cattle, gold, and silver. Success is
seldom achieved without adversity, challenges, and setbacks. Faith, hope,
endurance, obedience, and trusting God are part of the journey to becoming
successful. God fulfilled his promise to Abraham, making him the father of many
nations and blessings, which he received through faith in God's promises and
obedience to his directives.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, I may not fully comprehend your
directives or how you bring them to pass, but I trust your divine plans. Please
strengthen me with the spirit of obedience and endurance so I may patiently
await your timing, especially during periods of uncertainty. Almighty God,
assist me in focusing not on the difficulties and disappointments that I face
but rather on the light at the end of the tunnel. Guide me on the path of life
and direct my steps, dear Lord, for in your presence there is fullness of joy,
and at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Lord, whenever I am
overwhelmed by fear, lead me to a place where my trust in you is boundless, in
the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you a day filled with peace. ✌💕🙏
