The Bread That Sustains

Meditation:

    The bread that Jesus offers us cannot be purchased with money, nor is it found in a bakery. No earthly ingredients combined can produce this bread. This bread is not a product of earthly means but a divine provision symbolizing Jesus Christ himself. Speaking to the multitude and his disciples, Jesus boldly identifies himself as the bread of life. He said, I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man partakes of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Jesus is the bread of life, sustaining and nourishing us spiritually.

    Jesus promised that those who come to him, their spiritual hunger will be satisfied, and their thirsty soul will be quenched. Incline your ear and come unto me, says the Lord; hear, and your soul shall live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you and show you mercy. Let us labor not for the bread which perishes, but for that bread which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of Man shall give unto us.

 

Let us pray:

    Dear Heavenly Father, I give thee thanks, O God, for this opportunity to examine my life and humble myself before you. Bread of Heaven sent down from glory, my soul hunger and thirst for you, Lord God, in this dry and barren land. I have a desire and a determination to be filled from the fountain that shall never run dry. To whom shall I go, Lord? You are the bread of life. Lord, you are the only source that can satisfy me completely and fill the emptiness within me. Only you, O God, can quench this thirst within and satisfy the deepest desires of my soul. Earnestly, I seek you, Lord, with a desire to know you more. I need more of you, Lord, and less of me. I humbly beseech you to help me overcome every personal limitation so I can feel a closer connection with you. Draw me closer to you, Lord, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Good morning Scripture reading: Romans 6:11-23 Worship song: Grace Greater Than Our Sin   Meditation:      At the beginning of the chapter, the Apostle Paul refuted the misconception that salvation is by grace through faith. Based on his rebuttal, it is clear that the saints were disputing about sin, salvation, law, and grace. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. Although the grace of God abounds with those who yield to righteousness, and his grace is greater than all our sins, we should not remain as servants to sin. Just as one person's disobedience made many people sinners, one person's obedience made many people righteous. Scripture reading: Luke 1:26-38 Worship Song: He Is Able   Meditation:      We often respond to life's challenges with immediate worry and fear, instead of trusting in divine deliverance, despite our faith that our all-powerful God is in control. When fear and doubt occur, remember that we serve a God who calms the stormy wind, helps the Israelites cross the Red Sea on dry ground, delivers them from captivity, opens the wombs of the barren, allows the elderly to conceive, causes a virgin to become pregnant, and performs wondrous miracles. The impossible for humans is possible for God.       God told Jeremiah, 'Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for me?' Good morning Scripture reading: Ephesians 6:10-18 Praise song: Stand   Meditation: Those who commit to following Jesus Christ should anticipate ongoing opposition and spiritual attacks, as a believer will never be entirely free from the enemy's interference during their time in this life. The enemy knows you have a good future with God, but he tries to make you focus on current problems to make you afraid. When you are focused on the bad, you can't see the good things God has planned. The enemy wants you to dwell on negative circumstances to prevent you from seeing and trusting God's blessings.       To overcome fear, you must deliberately choose to focus on God's promises instead of the problems.
