Meditation:

    The enemy uses the cunning strategy of misunderstanding to sow discord, foster division, and disrupt our peace. Human misconceptions serve as a deceptive wedge, misrepresenting our true intentions and creating rifts that may lead to mistrust and fractured friendships. Hannah, in her anguish, went to the house of the Lord and poured out her soul in prayer. She prayed with intense fervor, humbling herself as she expressed her needs before the Lord. However, Eli the priest looked at her and completely misjudged her, perceiving her silent, agonizing prayer as drunkenness. This illustrates how we often misinterpret the true meaning behind others' words and misjudge their communication. 

    When our words are misunderstood by others, resentment can take root. Had Hannah responded with offense, the misunderstanding might have caused her to turn away from the altar and separate herself from the community of faith. Instead of reacting with anger, she responded to Eli with a gentle correction. Hannah’s calm response transformed a harsh accusation into a blessing. Avoid anger; respond with grace and explain yourself with a calm and compassionate heart. Let such frustration drive us closer to God in prayer, where He grants us His peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Let us pray:

    Eternal Father, we thank You for teaching us how to respond to misunderstandings with humility and avoid unnecessary conflict. We pray, Almighty God, for divine direction to enhance our communication: to listen attentively, remain silent when details are uncertain, and resist the temptation to jump to conclusions. Lord, deliver us from the trap of taking offense when misunderstood. Guard our hearts against bitterness and resentment. When our good intentions are misinterpreted, help us, Lord, not to react with bitterness or anger. Grant us wisdom to discern when to speak and when to remain silent, trusting You to defend and uphold us. Empower us with the spirit of humility to act in a Christlike manner in every situation. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.

However, on the day of Jesus’ trial, they set aside their differences and united in their decision to condemn an innocent man, thereby becoming allies in their pursuit. Good morning Scripture reading: Esther 5 Praise song: Small Axe   Meditation:      When King Ahasuerus promoted Haman and set him above all the princes with him, all the servants at the king's gate bowed in reverence to Haman except Mordecai (Esther 3:1-2). Haman tried everything to persuade Mordecai to bow before him but failed, and therefore he despised him. Consumed by his hatred, Haman sought ways to destroy Mordecai and all the Jews (vs 4-6). He was so consumed by hatred and desire to destroy Mordecai that he listened to the advice of those whose hearts were just as evil as his (7-15).
