When God Acts
Good morning
Scripture reading: Numbers 12
Worship song: I'll Walk in Faith
Meditation:
Driven by jealousy, Miriam and Aaron sinned by challenging the authority of Moses, whom God had specifically chosen. By attacking his leadership and marriage, they challenged God's direct appointment. God responded with fury, forcing them to acknowledge the deep and personal relationship he had with Moses.
God is warning against hindering or oppressing those He has designated for a special purpose, asserting that attacking them is attacking Him. We are warned in 1 Chronicles 16 and Psalm 105 not to lay a hand on those whom the Lord has set apart for himself. Despite Miriam's act of rebellion, Moses's compassionate intercession secured her healing and restoration, but not before she endured a week of divine punishment outside the camp. Miriam challenged the divine authority placed upon Moses, but God intervened to maintain order, showing that a protective covering rests over his chosen servants.
No weapon formed against God's chosen people will prosper and
every accusing tongue will be condemned in judgment. Guard your tongue against
speaking evil of the Lord's anointed and avoid hasty judgment.
Let us pray:
Father, we bow before you in humble submission, recognizing
your supreme authority, your omnipresent and omniscient power. We offer our
heartfelt gratitude to you, Almighty God for the dedicated servants you have
placed in our lives, who diligently teach us and guide us on the righteous
path. We sincerely thank you Lord for the faithful spiritual leaders you have
ordained to shepherd us. Father, help us to respect those whom you have chosen
to guide us. Help us, O God, to apply the lessons from Miriam and Moses by
exercising wisdom over our words, resisting the urge to wander into temptation,
and avoiding even the appearance of wrongdoing. Father, may we leave all
judgment in your hands, and trust You to handle everything, O God, lest your
wrath be kindled against us for rebelling against and envying those You have
appointed. Father, teach us to govern our lips in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Wishing you a joyful day. 👏💕🙏
