Blessed Are The Merciful

 Good morning

 Scripture reading: Matthew 5:7

Worship song: Mercy Rewrote My Life

Meditation:

Mercy is something many of us understand through our own experience of needing compassion, forgiveness, and hope. It is more than a momentary feeling of sympathy. Mercy means reaching out to those who are suffering, in need, guilty or distressed. It also means sincerely offering forgiveness to those who have hurt us. Mercy does not mean ignoring the truth, excusing wrongdoing, or abandoning justice. Rather, it invites us to respond to human weakness and failure with the compassion God shows us through Jesus Christ. God's mercy is His loving choice to forgive sin, comfort the brokenhearted, and rescue us from judgment.

When someone commits a crime, is apprehended, and stands trial, they must face the consequences of their actions. Yet, depending on the nature of the crime, a judge may show leniency by imposing a lesser punishment than the person might otherwise deserve. In the same way, when a sinner turns away from wrongdoing and sincerely repents, the Lord forgives them and removes all their transgressions. As we receive God's mercy, we are called to extend mercy to others even when forgiveness feels difficult, and the person seems undeserving.  Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Let us pray:

Merciful Savior, blessed Redeemer and Friend, thank You for Your tender mercy and compassion towards us. Father, we come seeking Your mercy, and we ask You to soften our hearts so that we may show compassion to those who have wronged us. Almighty God, remove the hardness and bitterness from our hearts, and give us loving hearts that reflect Christlike character. Lord, transform our hearts and attitudes so that the way we treat others truly reflects Your teachings. Have mercy on us, Abba Father, according to Your tender mercies. Blot out our transgressions, Merciful God, wash us thoroughly from our iniquities, and cleanse us from our sins. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Give us a heart like Yours, we pray. In the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a peaceful day. 💕👏🙏
