Pressing On Anyhow

Scripture reading: Philippians 3:12-15

Hymn: I Am Pressing On

Meditation:

Apostle Paul is among the most influential witnesses of Jesus Christ and a dedicated preacher of the gospel who endured suffering and persecution. Though Paul was imprisoned and persecuted for spreading the gospel, that did not discourage him. He continued his mission to serve and minister to lost souls. He pressed on to the higher calling by doing the will of God. To press on or press ahead means you continue with a task or activity in a determined way, and you do not allow any problems or difficulties to stop, delay, or prevent you. You might be going through your wilderness experience now but press on and look towards your higher calling. 2 Cor. 4:8-9 brings comfort and reassurance to those who believe in God. The verses are a reminder to us that we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. If you are going through a rough time and find it difficult to endure trials, temptations, and persecution, do not be discouraged, for you are not alone. Press along saints towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Let us pray:

Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals, the God of comfort, King of all kings and Lord of all lords, I praise and adore you, O God. Father, excellent in all the earth, I worship, I adore and magnify you, O Lord, for you are worthy to be praised. I am praying to blessed Saviour for courage to press on despite our situations. God of heaven, I pray for endurance as we face trials, persecution, and tribulations and for strength to press ahead towards the higher calling. Father, I pray for faith to trust your plan and patience to wait upon you to finish your work within us. Almighty God, I pray for durability to withstand the pressures and the arrows that life throws at us. Father of Heaven and Earth, as we go through our season, empower us so we do not grow weary amidst the pain, pressures, and problems of life. I ask, O God, for a fresh baptism of your Spirit to empower us, to fill us and to ignite us, and endurance to run the race swiftly and courageously until the end. Lord, I give you thanks for your grace and mercies, and I ask that you forgive us when we fail to trust you completely during difficult moments in the name of Jesus Christ, our advocate. Amen.

Have a blessed day. 🙏
