Show Me Your Company

Good morning

Scripture reading: Proverbs 22:24-25

Worship song: United

Meditation:

Birds of a feather flock together is an old English proverb that has been frequently used since the mid-16th century. This proverb means that persons tend to associate with those who share similar interests, ideas, values, characteristics, or behaviors, etc. Oftentimes, we are influenced by those around us, especially those with whom we spend a lot of time. Show me your company, and I will tell you who you are. Be careful in your choice and choose your companions wisely. Choose people with the characteristics you would like to develop in your own life. Hang around mentors who have positive influences and move away from those who have a negative view of everything. What are your goals in life? What percentage of the time do you accomplish the things that you want in life? If you seldom meet your goals and objectives, it probably is time to look at the people in your sphere of influence. If you want to be smarter, you have to hang around smarter people. The Bible exhorts us to be cautious in our choice of company. It warns us not to be deceived; evil communications corrupt good manners. As children of God, we should flock together, let our lights shine, and be a positive influence in the lives of those around us. The Psalmist emphasizes in Psalm 133 how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. When brethren worship together, it is a sacrifice of sweet armor to Jehovah God.

 Let us pray:

My gracious Father and loving God, it is such a privilege to be blessed with friends and families who seek to follow, obey, and serve Jesus Christ. Compassionate God, I give You thanks, O God, for the circle of friends You have given me who continue to encourage me as I encourage them. Daddy Jesus, help us to choose our companions wisely. Father God, grant us the spirit of discernment so we can detect and discern the truth hidden from the naked eye and make the right choices. I pray, O God, that we will learn to shun the appearance of evil, hold firmly to our beliefs, and never be influenced by unbelievers. Mighty God, there are so many influential persons around us, but God, may we, through the directive of the Holy Spirit, seek to follow only positive role models. Almighty God, please connect us with sincere, God-fearing role models who will help us grow spiritually. Abba Father may our lights shine so others can see and glorify you. Amen.

Be blessed and keep safe. 💕🙏
