God's Mercy Kept Me

Good morning

Scripture reading: Philippians 3

Worship song: Draw Me Close

Testimony:

There was a time in my life when I did not understand fully what it meant to serve the Lord. I was drifting far from shore, yet still, I was searching for an anchor, to be at a place where I could find peace and rest for my weary soul. I was desperately searching for solitude and a better life. The life I once lived was no longer appealing. The things that I once found pleasure in I began to detest. There was this urge to know more about this Jesus who died for my sins, about His love and plans for me. On the flip side, there was also the desire for earthly gain and worldly pleasures. Sin is sweet and enticing, but when the hand of God is upon your life, what used to be sweet becomes bitter. The bottom line is that I was faced with two choices: the spiritual and the fleshly. Either I surrender totally to God Almighty and live by His commands or heed Satan and his cohorts, living in sin and enjoying the sweet aroma of the pleasures of sin. What does Satan have to offer, though? His only reward is pain, afflictions, temporary enjoyment, sorrow, and everlasting torment. I reflect on what God has done for me, what He has brought me through, and the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I reflected on His grace and mercy—how he bought me from bondage by paying the price on Calvary's cross. His love for me far exceeds the earthly love I seek. His love covers the multitude of my sins. He has taken me out of the dark dungeon, out of the miry clay. He has rescued me from the claws of Satan and the jaws of death. His grace and mercy have kept me thus far. I am living only because of His grace. The closer I get to Jesus Christ, the more I learn about Him. The more I learn, the more I want to know about Him. You, too, can enjoy the goodness of Jesus Christ and build a strong bond. It takes time, faith, commitment, and trust. It is a lifetime commitment.

 Let us pray:

Blessed Redeemer, my rock and my fortress, I am grateful that when I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, you rescued me and brought new meaning into my life. Lord, you have delivered me from the intoxicated life of sin I once lived. Thank you, heavenly Father, for the wake-up call and for the Holy Spirit that is at work in me, directing me when I step out of line. Father, I choose to commit and surrender my life to you, and I place my life and my future in your hands, so lead, guide, and keep my mind focused on you, Lord. When life’s waters are raging and my faith is weak, strengthen me, Lord. When the difficulties and pressures of life are too much, give me the courage and endurance to ride out the storms, cleave to you, and find peace and rest in the name of Jesus Christ, my King and Saviour. Amen.

Blessings always. Keep safe. 💞🙏

  1. A combination of song and profound writing melts my heart this morning. God is certainly using you. The way you write and the subjects you write on are enticing. You are speaking for others and one can identify with the simplicity and the profound ways you write. It is obviously the Lord who is using you. No matter what the devil use to fustrate you, know God is with you and will strengthen you. Carry on for Him. God bless and keep you safe and strong.
    Have a wonderful day. 🙏🙏
