Head of the household

Meditation:

    The role of women has changed significantly over time. Women who were once considered housewives are now taking on more responsibilities than usual because too often men failed to commit to their role as the head of the household. You might be wondering if men are still the head of the household. Yes, they are. Whether or not they are carrying out their function does not change the fact that God has appointed men as head of their household. Whether a man is saved or unsaved, lazy or diligent, responsible or irresponsible, their role as the head of their household cannot be changed because it is not man who established it; it was ordained by God. 

    The head of a household is responsible before God for the well-being and provision of his household. It is still the sole duty of husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the church, maintain their role as providers, and also be spiritual role models for their household or family. 1 Tim. 5:8 says If any man provides not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. God expects that all men live an exemplary life, to be good role models, and to be obedient and submissive to His will and His word by following the teachings and principles of Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

    Dear Heavenly Father, I give you thanks, O Lord, for all men who maintain their role as head of the family, and I pray you will bless them with grace, mercy, strength, and endurance as they face unforeseen challenges and difficulties. God of mercy, I pray they will not become discouraged or get weary. I pray, Almighty God, that they will rely on you for guidance and trust your leadership. Grant them wisdom, O God, to bring up their children in the admonition of you. Bless them also with patience, love, peace, understanding, discernment, and physical and spiritual wealth and health. Father, guide, lead, and direct them towards the purpose you have established for them, and may you continue to bless them with grace and mercies so that they can be a blessing to their family. Lord, let your purpose be fulfilled in their lives through Jesus Christ. Amen.
