Seal The Crack

Good morning

Scripture reading: Galatians 5:16-26

Song: Sin Doesn’t Live Here Anymore

Meditation:

The invasion of an unwelcome visit from a rodent captured my attention as it scampered across the floor, making its way toward the food pantry. After several unsuccessful attempts, we got rid of the rodent and then sealed the crack in the wall that it used as its entrance. This reminds me of the little sins we turned a blind eye to, allowing them to creep into our lives and invade our hearts and minds. Meddling in that which is forbidden feels right, but there are always consequences that follow. The sin that is attractive and sweet will eventually destroy us. The act of sin brings us great pleasure, but do not be deceived, for whatsoever a man sows, that will he also reap. He that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. In other words, the penalty for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. May you today choose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin temporarily? Forsake the pleasures of sin and enjoy sweet salvation through Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, there is a continuous war raging against our spiritual well-being, but God, we believe that if we call upon you, you will conquer the fruit of the flesh. Father, I place the desires of our hearts before you, the things that occupied our minds, the pleasures of sins. Almighty God, I pray for a diversion from the desires of the flesh to desires for the fruits of the spirit. Almighty God, now that we recognize the works of the flesh and realize the danger it poses, may you cause us to be consumed by the fruits of the spirit and hence taste the goodness of your grace and mercies. Father, may we willingly choose rather to dwell in the house of the Lord than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Jesus, Saviour of sinners, I surrender every ungodly altar to thee. O God, deliver our souls from vanity, from the consequences of sin. Abba, Father, we denounce fleshly desires to pursue salvation and eternal life. Preserve and keep us from the works of the flesh, Lord, and keep our minds focused on thee. Stand by us, O God, as we turn from seeking worldly pleasures to pursuing righteousness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a blessed and peaceful day. Keep safe. ✌💕

  1. The constant struggle with the flesh and the Spirit continues. In order to win one must stand on the promises of Christ our savior and arm ourselves with the weapons of our warfare. For those who refuse to stand on the right ground will suffer defeat.
Let us fight right not beating the air. Blessings.
