Who Is Your Hero?

Good morning

Scripture reading: Hebrews 11:32-39

Worship song: Calvary

Meditation:

Maybe your hero is your parent, a teacher, a leader, a celebrity, a politician, or someone in society that you have not met, but that person has impacted your life in a very influential way. Everyone has a hero, someone they admire, respect, and want to be like. A hero can be someone who risks their own life to save another or someone who fights for a good cause and is distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, and strength by making a positive difference in the world.

There is a hero I have come to know, love, and admire. He deserves our adoration, worship, obedience, time, treasure, service, and allegiance. His name is Jesus Christ. He gave his life to free us from Satan's bondage. He is our hero of Calvary, seated in glory now where archangels bow before him. He came to earth bearing our shame and iniquities; a man without fault, perfect and righteous, died a cruel death for our freedom. Come lay down all the burdens you are carrying at his feet. All the solutions to our problems, the answers we seek, are found in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, our greatest hero, is our Savior, Lord, and King.

Let us pray:

Hero of Calvary, worthy are you, Lord, to receive glory, honor, praise, and adoration. Jesus Christ, you are our risen King, the God who triumphs over death and the grave. Death could not hold you down; you are seated in majesty, with angels bowing at your throne. Father, when I think of your goodness and what you have done for us, your limitless love for mankind, despite our disobedient and selfish desires, makes me want to know more about you and serve you with my whole heart. Almighty God, I pledge allegiance to you; with all my strength, you deserve my attention, and so, God, I choose to reject the world and the pleasures thereof to embrace the cross. Father, I pray that those who are procrastinating will realize that the accepted time to devote their life to Jesus Christ is now. Father, may I never stray from your presence. Keep me close to thee, O God, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Peace out.
