Drink From the Fountain Freely
Good morning
Scripture Reading: St. John 19: 28 - 30
Worship Song: Fill My Cup, Lord
Meditation:
Jesus, tired from his journey, went and sat by a well in
Sychar, Samaria. Shortly after, a Samaritan woman arrived at the well to draw
water. Jesus conversed with her and administered to her soul, offering her
living water that she would never thirst again. Jesus came to quench not the
physical but the spiritual thirst. Jesus came into the world to accomplish a
mandate. He completed his mission to teach, educate, and minister healing and
deliverance to a dying world. The final hour of his life was the critical
aspect of his ultimate goal. He endured persecution, torture, and rejection for
our redemption so He could offer us living water, but to satisfy this thirst,
Jesus had to die. Jesus lamented in anguish, for the severity of his punishment
was intolerable, yet he endured it to the end. His strength was dried up like a
potsherd, and his tongue cleaved to his mouth, and in his thirst, they gave him
vinegar to drink. Jesus then bowed his head and said it was finished. Jesus has
granted us free access to the well of living water, so if anyone thirsts, come
unto Jesus and drink. Come to the fountain where living water flows, and you
will never thirst again.
Let us pray:
My dear Heavenly Father, our source of living water, the
well that never shall run dry, the God who commands and everything came into
existence, I worship you, for you are worthy to be praised. O God, you are my
Lord and King; my soul thirsteth for you in this dry and thirsty land. Father,
fill us afresh and grant us access to the fountain of life because we hunger
and thirst after your righteousness. Fill our cups, Heavenly Father, as we lift
it unto you. Fill it with peace, joy, and everything that will satisfy our
thirsty soul like only you can. Lord, when our souls are parched with the heat
of our sins, saturate us in the fountain of living water and drench us until
our souls are satisfied in the name of Jesus Christ, our everlasting King.
Amen.
Shalom. Keep safe. 💓🙏
It won't be long before everyone finds out that nothing in this life satisfies. It may appear so but the feeling is transitory, it easily passes away. True and lasting satisfaction is found in a fundamental relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Anything outside of this relationship will feel good for a while but no lasting enjoyment, no eternal values. Everyone needs long and lasting love, sound financial base, sound family base. If these things should happen, we can never exempt the Lord Jesus Christ from our every move, and dealing. Let us make all effort to let Him be first. Have a wonderful life.
