The Devil Will Dine With You
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. Luke 22:1-23
Worship song: Breaking Strongholds
Meditation:
The prince of this world is a very subtle evil spirit
working around and through us by using many different strategies to distract
and entice us to yield to temptation. That is why the world is like a
battlefield where children of God, both weak and strong, are constantly warring
against principalities and powers, against the works of the flesh and the wiles
of the devil. Each time we are tempted brings us face-to-face with a moral
choice that causes us to either give in or stand firm. Satan does not give up
easily, so if we allow him the liberty to take an inch, he will take the whole
yard. Every leeway he gets is an opportunity for him to divert our attention
from the path that leads to holiness, and in so doing, he grasps the chance to
take up residency in our hearts. If we allow Satan, he will dine with us and
feed us with that which is forbidden, that which dishonors God. After much
persuasion, Eve fell for his cunning, crafty stunt, and so will we if we
entertain him. Therefore, heed not to temptation; resist the devil, and he will
flee.
Let us pray:
Holy and Righteous Father, the God of creation, the creator
who has no rival or equal, I offer my praises unto you, mighty God. Merciful
Father, this morning we confess that we have dipped our morsel of bread in the
devil's sap and have subjected ourselves to his willpower. And so merciful
Father, we sincerely repent, confessing our faults before you, and ask, O God,
that you forgive us because we have transgressed against you, Holy One. Abba
Father, break the dominion power and the stronghold of the falling angel over
our lives. Give us the willpower to stand firm against every strategic plan of
the adversary. Almighty God, send us divine help and strength to war against
every attack in the spirit realm and the ability to use your word effectively
in every spiritual battle, lest we continue to yield to temptation. Sovereign
God, holiness is what you require and want from us, so take our heart, O God,
and mold it. Take mighty God, our will, and conform it to yours, O Lord and
Father; take our mind and transform it, O God, in the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth. Amen.
Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
ReplyDeleteThe battles we fought is not by ourselves but it feels that way when we are away from Him. We must draw night to Him and He will draw night to us. Ones heart and mind is always a battle ground.
That is why ones mind must be stayed on the Lord and constantly engaged in the things of God. Let us stay focus. God bless.
