An Influenced Mind

Meditation:

    It is important to realize that our minds can be profoundly influenced by the performance, attitude, moral standards, conduct, actions, and spoken words of others, whether negatively or positively. When we allow ourselves to be persuaded by flattery, praise, and compliments, we risk letting our lives be fashioned by others' opinions instead of our convictions. We must remember that Satan is a master of manipulation, seeking to invade and control our thoughts to influence our actions. We must be able to discern and recognize deceptive influences. 

    When we focus our minds on Christ, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will safeguard our minds. Our minds are influenced by what we gravitate to, so it is vital to keep our minds focused on God and his precepts. Be not deceived; evil communications corrupt good manners. If we walk with the wise, we will increase in knowledge and wisdom, but if we allow our minds to be influenced by the unwise, we will be destroyed. 

    Whatever we allow to influence our minds and motivate us can have a detrimental or beneficial effect on our well-being. We do influence people; therefore, our greatest concern should be to influence people for Christ and His church.

Let us pray:

    Sovereign God, all glory and honor belong to you, O God, for you are worthy of all praise, and there is none like you, Lord. Father, at this moment of divine revelation, I ask you to surround us with influential people who will teach, lead, and guide us spiritually. Bring into our lives those who fear you, O God, and help us focus our minds on you. Almighty God, we call upon you to remove from our lives those whose intention is to lead us down a destructive path. Guard our hearts and minds, O God, and keep us sober and vigilant. Almighty God, we understand our thoughts directly influence our actions, and therefore, we ask you, Lord, to take captive every destructive thought and renew our minds, instilling a righteous spirit within us in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.

Good morning Scripture reading: Psalms 139 Worship song: Where Can I Go   Meditation:      Overwhelmed with emotion, the Psalmist reflects on God's incredible, infinite power and omnipresence, marveling that God is intimately acquainted with every detail of his life, even his most hidden thoughts and feelings. God's wisdom and knowledge are unattainable; none has the power to obtain them. While we can earn academic titles, and be blessed with the spirit of discernment, we can never earn the boundless wisdom and knowledge that belong only to God. The Psalmist acknowledged that God's power is beyond human understanding. Good morning Scripture reading: Ezekiel 14:1-8 Worship song: At Your Feet   Meditation:      The Lord rescued the Israelites from Egypt and took them away from their lifestyle of bondage in slavery and their customary worship of idols. The Israelites encountered the love of God and were granted freedom through his divine power. Nonetheless, they regularly transgressed against the Lord and returned to idolatry, and for that, many of them did not reach the promised land. Squatters Occupying the Land

Good morning Scripture reading: Numbers 34:1-13 Worship Song: Way Maker   Meditation:      God made a covenant with Abraham in which he promised he would multiply his seed and make of him a great nation. God promised to bless him and his generation and give them the land of Canaan. The land was already occupied by various inhabitants, but God had to evict them so that Abraham and his descendants could possess the land. Our thoughts and hearts are vulnerable to the controlling influence of Satan's forces, who act as spiritual squatters.       To remove these spiritual intruders, we must invite Jesus Christ to take possession of our inner lives. Satan and his cohorts will remain inhabitants until we actively invite Jesus Christ into our lives to forcibly evict these unwanted spiritual tenants.
