Wait for The Overflow
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. Luke 5:1-9
Praise song: All Night
Meditation:
When Jesus asked Simon to launch out into the deep and let down his net for a draught, he responded that he had toiled all night and caught nothing. Nonetheless, he obediently launched his net and caught a great shoal of fish that his net began to break. Simon could have declined Jesus's request, but instead, he obeyed Him and witnessed a miraculous move of God. Stunned by the unexpected result of his obedience when he carried out the instruction given to him by Jesus, Simon knelt before Jesus and prayed. Maybe you are echoing the same words as Simon that you have toiled all your life and things remain the same. God is telling you to try again. The possibility is that you have been asked to change your position, move, or relocate, but because of fear and doubt, you remain in your comfort zone. Maybe it is time you heed God's command and move away from the position on the dock where the water is shallow and launch out into the deep. As we heed God's command, we can experience miracles made possible only by the wonder-working power of Almighty God. Peter's disappointed night of toiling all night turned into blessings beyond measure, and so can yours if you obey the command of God.
Let's pray:
Miracle-working God, the God who can do the impossible, at your command, may we yield to your request, O God. Father, though we have toiled all our lives and things remain the same, may we, by faith, launch out into the deep at your command. Father, though we have faced many obstacles, challenges, and disappointments, may we remain focused and steadfast on you, O God. Almighty God, we place our empty nets before you, the nets that we attempt to fill in our own strength. We surrender our problems, our burdens, our struggles, and every dead situation to you, Mighty God. We call upon you, O God, for though we have many years of experience in what we are gifted to do, like Simon, we too sometimes toiled all day, all year, and came up empty and broken. Father of miracles, we seek you earnestly and sincerely with the desire to move from wading into shallow water to launch out into the depth of your glory in the almighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
Have a wonderful and peaceful day. 💕🙏
Amen.
