Be Content
Good morning
Scripture reading: Philippians 4:10-13
Worship song: Contentment
Meditation:
Contentment is an emotional state of satisfaction that
suggests one is at ease mentally and finds serenity in the situation he or she currently
faces despite the challenges. Paul’s letter, written while in prison, addresses
the Philippians (his fellow laborers), informing them that he had learned to be
content in his present state. Paul was sent to prison because he was preaching
the gospel, yet he was content. Being content does not have anything to do with
money, worldly possessions, or other people. It is finding inner peace and
accepting ourselves and our circumstances. We can find contentment not in the
things we possess but in Jesus Christ, our Lord and King. If we trust Jesus and
live our lives to please Him, we will find inner peace. When we accept Jesus,
our circumstances cannot rob us of contentment and inner joy. The secret of
living a contented life is to be satisfied with little, give thanks for all
things, live above life’s circumstances, and constantly walk in the purpose of
Almighty God.
Let us Pray:
Shepherd of my life, my Saviour, and King, we, your
children, often struggle to be content and find ourselves focusing on our needs
instead of committing to your will and focusing totally on You. Almighty God,
at times we forget that you have graciously provided us with every spiritual
blessing in Christ. Jehovah, help us to be content in You and with what You
have blessed us with. Teach us, Abba Father, to be content in our situations
and wait graciously and patiently upon you, O God. Keep our hearts from being
anxious about what we don’t have, and give us a grateful and thankful heart so
we can appreciate the gifts of your blessings. Almighty God, please fill us
with the joy and satisfaction of contentment and help us to be content in all
circumstances. Almighty God, remind us that you are with us, and you will never
leave nor forsake us. Jehovah God, when we have come to the end of ourselves,
the end of our selfish, self-seeking desires, and realized that contentment is
only found when we seek you with our whole heart, carry us, Father. Gracious
God, I commit this prayer unto thee through my Advocator, Jesus Christ, most
high. Amen.
Have a great day. 💕🙏
Give thanks with a grateful heart is the song to sing every day. It is the devils intention for one to worry and become weak in doing so without realizing. It should be everyone desire to draw close to the Lord so the things of this world will grow strange and dim. In a world of wealth and great materialism what happened to David can happen to anyone. When he sees the prosperity of the wicked his feet almost slip but when he goes into the house of the Lord he had a clearer understanding and see the reward of the wicked and he was encouraged to hold to God's unchanging hands and build his hope on things eternal. God bless you richly. One step forward every day.
