Will Your Anchor Hold?
Good morning
Scripture reading: Matthew 8:23-27
Worship Song: In The Rock I Will Hide
Meditation:
One of the greatest weapons that the enemy uses to conquer us is the spirit of fear. The disciples became fearful and believed that they were going to perish when the storm transitioned from a peaceful, calm state to a boisterous state. Paralyzed by the invading force of the wind, they panic and rush to Jesus Christ for help. Fear can overshadow us with a thick cloud of darkness controlling our every move and decision. Unexpected crisis, negative impacts caused by changes in circumstances, or boisterous storms in life in the form of persecution, natural disasters, conflicts, disease, and ill health can create an atmosphere of wavering faith, uncertainty, anxiety, imminent fear, even in the fearless of believers.
We fear because our faith is weak and because
we are not aware of the power of the God we serve. The Bible provides verses
with hope, strength, courage, and assurance. When fear floods your mind when
you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death, remember the God of
the universe is greater than they that rise against you. When you are faced
with struggles and uncertainties, do not be dismayed for God is with you. Do
not be anxious about anything, but in everything, let your requests be known to
God and give thanks. Remember, God never gave us a spirit of fear but of power
and love and sound mind. Be assured God is your anchor and he will keep you
steadfast and sure while the billows roar. Fear is defeated when your
foundation is built on Jesus Christ, the solid rock. God knows what concerns you
and he has got you.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, I am grateful that amid chaos, confusion, and frustration, you are still in control, and you are still God. I thank you, Almighty God, for your words that remind us not to fear or be dismayed because you are with us, and you will never leave nor forsake us. Father, when we are faced with uncertainties and when the enemy tries to conquer us with the spirit of fear, we ask that you lift a standard against him. Almighty God, strengthen our faith and trust in you so when the adversary comes upon us like a flood, we will be able to withstand the test and triumph victorious in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Have a great day. ✌💕🙏
Amen! Amen! Great devotion. Our anchor is the most important thing, in whom it is anchored. Everything that we have aboard our lives will be swept away in the sea of life if we don't have an anchor steadfast and sure while the billows roar. Let us not worry about the raging sea but ensure our anchor hold so we can enjoy peace in the midst of the storm.
