Hey there, Welcome to Your Daily Dose of God!
Feeling overwhelmed by life's struggles? You're not alone, and you've come to the right place. Here, you'll find comfort, hope, and a daily dose of motivation to strengthen your walk with God.
There was a time when I felt hopeless, lonely, and frustrated. During those moments, I started writing these devotions with the Holy Spirit's guidance. They brought me peace and hope, and I want to share that same comfort with you.
Jesus, while speaking to the multitude, used the lifestyle of the Scribes and Pharisees as an illustration to bring across His message with clarity. The Scribes and Pharisees appeared righteous to men, but inwardly they were filled with iniquities and uncleanness. They were more concerned about religion and obeying the rules and laws of man than living a righteous life, rather than ensuring that their hearts were clean. The life some of us unveil is similar to that of the Scribes and Pharisees. Our outward appearance attracts and looks appealing to the eyes of our onlookers, but what will they see when they gaze at the inside? As a people, we are drawn to the outward beauty, beguiled by our natural inception and the lust of the eyes. Can we not see that the beauty without should also be within? We often select, hire, marry, and cling to people based on external image but miss the much more important beauty. We look at what we see on the outside, but God sees the heart, where all the hidden things lie. Outwardly, we may look righteous to the world, but inwardly, we may be a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. But woe unto us if we make our external appearance attractive, yet internally, our hearts are consumed with filth, bitterness, anger, self-centeredness, envy, spitefulness, hatred, mercilessness, and unkindness.
Let us Pray:
Merciful, wonderful, Saviour, our blessed redeemer and friend, great are you, Lord, and greatly to be praised. Father, we give you thanks, mighty God, for this new day, a day in which we are privileged to come to the throne of grace. Gracious God, we recognize that our thoughts, desires, and actions are not always in alignment with your will. Father, you know the state of our hearts, the things we conceal from men but cannot hide from you. God of grace and mercies, we have allowed impurities to tarnish our hearts and contaminate the relationship we have with you. Mighty One, search our vessels this morning, the inner core of our being, and wash us from the inside out. Almighty God, take dominion power over our hearts to strip, cleanse, and purify us of every deceitful, filthy, deceptive thought that dwells within us. Lord, you are permitted to have your way in us this day; work on us until you are satisfied with the finished product in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Samuel 18 Worship song: This Is Amazing Grace Meditation: King Saul's expression of love for David turned into a jealous rage, triggered when the people applauded David publicly for his victorious defeat of the Philistines. Driven by an envious and malicious spirit, King Saul turned against David, viewing his servant as a direct threat to his throne. Despite recognizing that God had shifted His favor to David, a fearful and jealous Saul made repeated, failed attempts to murder his successor, fueled by intense rage. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. The Lord will preserve the souls of his people and protect us from all evil. No force can overpower those shielded by the Almighty; in times of disaster, the believer rests in divine safety. Do not fear your enemies for if God is on your side, no one can truly stand against you....
Good morning Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:30-32 Worship Song: Here's My Heart Meditation: A minister once said we mask bitterness as memory, defend it as justice, and store it as debt owed. Bitterness is like residue that builds up over time from accumulated anger, resentment, pain, or perceived unfairness, ultimately leading to unforgiveness. Consider bitterness as a plant with its leaves looking green but its root is rotting from fungal infection. Eventually, the entire plant will collapse. You can be called, gifted, and anointed, ministering and winning souls for the Kingdom of God, but still foster a heart of bitterness. The Apostle Paul boldly urges us in Ephesians 4:31 to put away all bitterness and wrath. He further advises us to reject and renounce our former ways, which are tainted by sinful habits. The Holy Spirit cannot freely work in a life that is holding onto malice, anger, and unforgiveness. Neither wi...
Good morning Scripture reading: Esther 4 Worship song: Hear my Cry, O Lord Meditation: Deeply disturbed by Mordecai sitting at the King's gate in mourning apparel, Queen Esther immediately sent him new clothes to replace his sackcloth, but he refused the garment. She later discovered his actions were a public display of grief over a written royal decree instigated by Haman to destroy all Jews. Too often, we jump to conclusions and hasten to judge, criticize, or condemn others' actions without awareness of their motives. After uncovering the truth, Queen Esther initiated a mandatory three-day fast for all the Jews, declaring that she would break the protocol and enter the King's chamber, fully prepared to accept the fatal consequences that might follow. Mordecai's act of public disgrace and Esther's bravery, led to transforming a hopeless, situation into a miraculous victory for the Jewish people. ...
Good morning Scripture Reading: Romans 8:26-31 Worship Song: God Will Work It Out Meditation: It is a misconception that accepting Jesus removes all life's problems; the reality is that faith brings inner peace and spiritual growth, not an easy, trouble-free life. In this world, we will be tested by the enemy, and we will have tribulation, but we must remain courageous and be of good cheer for he who dwells within us has overcome the world. God did not promise we would not encounter hardship. He did not promise we would have a perfect life here on earth. What he promises is his peace and that he will never leave nor forsake us. Consider Job, a man of integrity, seen by God as perfect and upright, a man who eschewed evil, yet faced unimaginable trials as detailed in the book of Job. Every situation we encounter, whether it is sickness, tribulations, financial struggles, relationship issues, or spiritual battles, will ultimate...
