A Broken Contract

Good morning

Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 24: 14-15

Worship song: Victory Belongs to Jesus

Meditation:

The seven-year bilateral contract agreement between Laban and Jacob was broken after Laban failed to fulfill his end of the bargain, but despite being disappointed by the outcome of their verbal agreement, Jacob dedicated his time and service to Laban as he worked relentlessly for fourteen more years. Realizing that Laban was a deceiver and unjust master, Jacob took his family and fled, dissatisfied that Laban had deceived him and had despitefully changed his wages ten times. No doubt there are still some Laban spirits operating as bosses in the workforce, deceiving and robbing the poor and needy of their hard-earned salaries. Be careful that you are not numbered among those who exploit the poor, the needy, and the have-nots, robbing and short paying them because their master is the Lord God, and their cries are being heard by the Lord God. Those who decide to oppress the poor shall weep and howl when misery shall come upon them. Woe unto all deceivers, for you may be rejoicing now, but weeping shall be your latter end. Woe unto the unjust employer who used his neighbor's service and refused to pay a fair wage (Jer. 22:13). Masters seek therefore to give unto your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

 Let's pray:

Sovereign God, worthy are you, O Lord, to receive glory, honor, and praise. Almighty God, I beseech you to cripple every Laban spirit and lift a standard against those who oppress the poor, the needy, and the humble. Deliver your children, O God, from oppressors, manipulators, and those who exploit their service. Father, help those who are struggling financially, those who have been used and abused, and those who have served faithfully without being rewarded fair wages. Almighty God, though we walk among those who undermine our potential, give us the zeal to walk with power and authority, knowing that all things will work together for our good through Jesus Christ. Remind us, Mighty God, that the way to success is paved for those who are determined, committed, dedicated, and honest. Father, amidst the disappointment, the poor treatment, and the deception we encounter, strengthened us so we can remain s steadfast and focus on fulfilling our God-given purposes. Almighty God, though we face difficulties now, remind us of your promise that you will never leave nor forsake us. Lord God, as you listen to the cries of your people, especially those who are struggling to cope under Laban bondage, comfort their hearts, O God, and bring reassurance to those who mourn in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, our help in times of need. Amen. (Child of the King).

Have a wonderful and blessed day. Keep safe. 💕🙏
