Made Whole
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. John 5:1-15
Worship song: You made me whole
Meditation:
The story of the impotent folks waiting patiently on the
porches surrounding the pool called Bethesda bears a similarity to the many
persons who lie in the hospital beds waiting to recover from their illnesses,
waiting for their healing and breakthrough. The impotent folks at the poolside
had faith, and they believe that if they continue to wait, they will one day
receive their healing. The patients who visited hospitals also believe and
expect the doctors to administer the right remedy that will help in their
healing process. The most intriguing part of the story as it relates to the
scripture is the man who lived with his infirmity for thirty-eight years, yet
he never lost hope. His faith and belief that there was still hope are evident
in his consistent visit to the pool. His condition caused him to lose his
ability to move swiftly to the pool, so he was never able to get in before
others, but he still maintained his faith. Many of us would have given up and
thrown in the towels, but this man was determined to wait. Today, you may have
been struggling with a condition for years that left you feeling hopeless, but
do not give up. Whatever your situation is, do not become hopeless, but wait
patiently for your breakthrough. Like the impotent man who received deliverance
after waiting for thirty-eight years, you too shall receive your victory. Do
not give up nor lose faith; change is coming. The same Jesus who helped the
impotent man is capable of healing you, providing for you, and delivering you
from any and every situation. Only believe and exercise your faith. Jesus has
the antidote for ALL situations.
greatly to be praised. Almighty God, our balm in Gilead, I believe that you are still our
miracle-healing King, and therefore, this morning we look to you, O God, for our
physical and spiritual healing, breakthrough, and deliverance. Almighty God, we come
before you with our struggles, our different situations, and we lay them at your healing,
deliverance pool. Lord, many of us have been ailing for years, and because of the
intensity of our conditions, we have lost hope, but I pray, O God, that you will meet us
where we are and change our hopeless mindsets to renewed hope. Almighty God,
strengthen our faith and cause us to once more trust you when our hope is failing. Lord,
may we once again believe that you will turn our situations around, that you will turn our
struggles into victory, that you will defeat sicknesses and everything that attacks our
spirit man. Father, I pray that we will remain steadfast and focused, knowing that your
promises are true and knowing that you are our comfort and our source when all others
are failing. Father, sanctify us and preserve our whole spirit, soul, and body unto the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
