Walking in The Word

Good morning

Scripture reading: Colossians 3:12-17

Worship song: Thy Word

Meditation:

One major factor that negatively impacts our lives as children of God is knowing what the word of God says but failing to apply it to our lives. Just knowing the word of God is not enough if we continue to walk as blind. The word we hear and know must be applied, and the way we apply it is by walking according to the will of God through his prophetic word. We know the word and we understand what it says, yet we seek after things that do not align with the will of God. We know what the word says, but we desire things that satisfy the flesh instead of the spirit. When we allow the word of God to sanctify and convict us, God will transform our hearts and minds in obedience to his will. James 1 says we must be doers of the word and not hearers only, lest we deceive ourselves. He further stated that those who continue to live by the word will be blessed in their deeds. Let us not be among those who hear the word, but when we encounter temptation or difficulty, forget what the word says. The word of God is powerful and sharp enough to pierce through our hearts, so let us activate the word and live by its precept. We are reminded to let the word of God dwell in us richly, and whatever we do or say, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks always.

 Let us pray:

Sovereign God, I give you thanks, O God, for your word that is alive and active, sharp enough to penetrate through our soul and discern our thoughts. Almighty God, as we read your word, may you grant us wisdom and understanding to dissect your word so we may not be hearers only but doers also. Lord, as we read your word, we seek clarity, insight, and instruction, and we believe, Lord God, that you will impart such knowledge unto us. Father, we want to live as true disciples of Christ, so as we pray, Lord, we ask that you impart the knowledge we need to apply your word to our lives in a way that will change our hearts. Lord, we ask for your divine intervention to help us read the Bible with humility and clarity so we can be exemplified disciples of Jesus Christ and followers of his teachings, living according to his commands and precepts. Lord, I thank you for granting us the will to live and be obedient to your word in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

 Have a blessed day. 💗💞
