Will You Answer
Good morning
Scripture reading: Matthew 9:9-13
Worship song: Softly and Tenderly
Meditation:
Matthew, a collector of internal revenue, was busy
collecting taxes as is customary, but when Jesus called him, he immediately
arose and followed him. The Pharisees saw tax collectors as enemies to be
shunned. Jesus saw them as friends in need of spiritual healing. The Pharisees
could offer nothing to the tax collectors except a list of rules, but Jesus
offered forgiveness of sins and a better life. Jesus came to minister healing
to the sick, sight to the blind, and redemption for sinners. The word of God in
Ezekiel 33:11 says He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the
wicked turn from his evil way and live. If Jesus is calling you, do not
hesitate, do not harden your hearts, turn from your wicked carnal ways, from
your self-righteous ways, and you will receive pardon and access to the tree of
life. Come to Jesus Christ without delay. Come just as you are; come with your
broken and contrite heart while grace still abounds.
Let us pray:
Pressure Lord, I worship and glorify your holy name. Lord God, you deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. Jehovah God, there is none like you, none in comparison to you, Lord. Father, as you call us by name, as you call us to work in your vineyard, as you call the ordinary to do extraordinary work for you, may we avail ourselves to the higher calling. I pray we will answer your call speedily and come to you without delay. I pray, Almighty God, that we will not be too engaged doing our employer's assignment or so deeply entangled with our earthly affairs that we fail to answer our Heavenly Father's call. When you call us, Lord, I pray that we will answer speedily with a willing heart. Father, intercept every ungodly spirit that occupies our thoughts and minds, root out and pull down every demonic stronghold, and allow the Holy Spirit to reside in our hearts richly. Father, lift up a standard against stubborn willpower and give us a heart of obedience to the will and command of God in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Have a joyful day and keep safe. Shalom. 💖🙏
