Purpose as the Direction

Good morning

Scripture reading: Exodus 3

Worship song: Destiny

Meditation:

There are many stories revealing Bible characters whose destiny demonstrates their purpose and how their purpose serves as their divine compass, pointing them toward God’s unique plan for their lives. The children of Israel were held captive by an oppressive ruler, but God's divine plan and purpose exceeded their circumstances, one that led them to their intended destiny. Abraham was chosen to be the father of many nations because of his obedience and his unwavering faithfulness to God. David worked as a shepherd boy but was later chosen by God to reign over his chosen people as king. Moses was a murderer, a tender of Jethro's flock, and became a great leader, leading the children of Israel out of bondage. And Joseph was sold to a slave master, falsely accused of a heinous crime, then moved from prison to Pharaoh's palace. A famous preacher once said that your destiny is not determined by how you were raised, by your circumstances, or by how many odds are against you; your destiny is determined by the Creator of the universe. Before we were formed in our mother's womb, God decided to make us his children through Jesus Christ. This was what God wanted, and it pleased him to do it. We all have to go through a process to reach our destination. Sickness, persecution, trials, temptations, disappointment, and difficulty are a part of the journey, but if we embrace it, trust, and give God thanks in everything, His grace is sufficient to sustain us and bring us through. Before we can begin to fulfill our destiny, we must be in the right relationship with God.

Let us pray:

Everlasting Father, many of us, O God, have faced unexpected challenges, trials and temptations, disappointments, and persecutions of various kinds, but Lord, we are grateful that none of these things can hinder us from fulfilling our God-given purpose. Almighty God, we are grateful that you knew us before we were conceived and that you, O God, have designated a path that will lead to our destiny. Lord, though we were anticipating a life without hardship, we are grateful for the path you have chosen to bring us into right standing with you. I give you thanks, O God, for the godly servants who have gone on before us whose dedication and faithfulness towards you have impacted us in a very significant way, filling us with hope as we traverse the path you have ordained for us. Father, we thank you for your grace, tender mercies, and loving kindness, and I pray that you will lead and direct us as you have done to the faithful patriarch who served and trusted you through Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.

Have a blessed day. Keep safe.🙏💞
