Is There Room For One?
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. Luke 2:1-7
Worship song: Make room
Meditation:
At the appointed time of tax payment, Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem, but while in the city, the days for Mary to give birth were accomplished. They sought a room in an inn, but there was no vacancy available for her to deliver her child. Disappointed, they walked away and went to the only place available to accommodate them. The manager, though not appropriate for such an occasion, was their last resort. Imagine lying in a manger, among animals, not humans, on hay, not on a comfortable bed with blankets, in an animal feeding trough, not in a crib, listening to the sounds of animals, not the cries of familiar voices while giving birth. It is beyond our imagination. The fact, though, is that Jesus did not come to rest in the comfort of a crib. He came to take up residence in our hearts.
He came to occupy rooms in the hearts of the humble, the outcast, the sinner, the feeble, the abandoned, the downcast, the forbidden, and the lonely while reaching out to the desperate. He came to dwell in the hearts of those who hunger and thirst after holiness and righteousness. Is there any room in your heart for Jesus? As individual innkeepers, we can either display the vacant or no vacant sign on the entrance door. Whichever sign is placed on the entrance door or our hearts will determine our accommodation for Jesus Christ. What is your sign saying? Is there room in your heart for Jesus Christ? Will you allow him to occupy a room in your inn? Allow Jesus to occupy a room in your heart today so He can rewrite your story.
Shepherd of my life, humble I bow in your presence, as I
offer myself as a living sacrifice unto you. Father, I give you the key to my
heart, Lord. Divine Saviour, if any rooms are not yet occupied by you, I am
willing to make them vacant for you, Jesus, so you can gain access. Almighty
God, please renovate and refurbish every area of my life and make it available
for your accommodation. Empty and cleanse every room that is occupied through
hoarding of selfish desires, self-righteousness, self-seeking, immoralities,
and those stained with the graffiti of sin, and fill them with your will, your
purposes, and your desires, Lord. Almighty God, I beseech thee to remove the
junks of unconfessed sin known and unknown, unforgiveness, and unwanted
baggage, and purify my vessel to be used for your glory, Lord. Father, I call
upon you, O God, to identify the overgrown weeds that cause spiritual blockages
in my life, and I ask, O God, that you prune them for the benefit of spiritual
growth. Heavenly Father, I cried unto thee to purify and cleanse our hearts,
the door to our soul, in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, our
Redeemer. Amen. (Child of the King).
Have a blessed day. 💕🙏
All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give. Our all and best must be His always. We must make available to Him and for Him the best of us. Anytime He have access to a clean heart He will use us and not only use us, He will stay.
