The Unknown Hour
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. John 10:10
Worship song: Come, Now Is the Time to Worship
Meditation:
Do you know what will happen in the next minute, hour, day,
week, etc., and do you know your fate? What will befall you? If you knew at
what time the thief came, wouldn't you watch and protect your possessions
against theft? If you know tomorrow will be your last day, would you not spend
today at your best, trying to do all that you wanted to accomplish and trying
to make up for lost time? Do not procrastinate; live each privilege day as if
it is your last. No one is promised tomorrow; therefore, be ready for in such
an hour when you think not the Son of Man will come. Do not be like those who
doubt the Lord will return, saying they heard that when they were young and now
they are old and he is still not here. Be ready because you never know when the
bridge groom will come and find you without sufficient oil for the journey.
More so, you do not know when death will come knocking, and if your heart is
not in right with God, you will have neither part nor lot with him. Behold, now
is the acceptable time to worship and submit to Jesus Christ. Now is the time
for the true worshippers to worship the Father, for the Father seeketh such to
worship him in spirit and in truth.
Jesus Christ, son of the living God, I bow down and worship
You, O Lord, for you are worthy to be praised. Lord, we have been
procrastinating for too long, refusing to surrender and commit to you totally.
Father, there are so many distractions, deceptions, and enticing pleasures of
the flesh to keep us in bondage to sin, but I pray Almighty God that you will
divert our attention to focus on that which is eternal. Lord, may we realize
that the things of this world are temporal and will lead to self-destruction.
Father, I pray that we will seek to inherit that which is incorruptible and
undefiled, that which is more precious than silver and gold, so we be found
precious and honorable at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Almighty God, may we
seek you diligently, knowing that our fate will be determined by you on the day
of judgment as we are judged by our deeds. Lord, I understand that now is the
acceptable time, so I pray that the delayers will hasten their strides and make
it right with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Life is truly uncertain. While everyone should have a plan for their lives, we must remember to say, the Lord's willing for by taking thought of our lives we cannot add a day nor nothing to our lives. One day at a time is what we ask the Lord. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Let us keep stepping. Blessings.
