The Accepted Time

Meditation:

    The all-too-familiar story of Joseph in the book of Genesis (chapters 37-50) recorded a brief history of his fate and how God worked in his favor. Joseph's brothers plan to eliminate him, but God has a greater plan. They meant to dethrone him from the position of leadership that he declared he would one day hold. They meant anything but well; in fact, they meant him evil. What they didn't know was that God would one day turn their evil scheme into something good for their benefit. The exact thing Joseph’s brothers had meant to cause him harm was the exact thing God used to promote him to his destiny. Joseph moved from a state of imprisonment to occupy the office of the governor in Egypt. He was given the authority to manage the affairs of the King of Egypt. As God has ordained it, during the time of famine, Joseph was able to assist his father and siblings with enough food to sustain them and satisfy their needs. What his brothers meant for evil, God meant it for good. 

Let us pray:

    Sovereign God, Father to the helpless, Father to the faithful, I worship you in spirit and truth. Almighty God, in this era when evil is prevalent and seems to be the order of the day, we seek coverage under your wings, O God. Father, we look to you, O God, and ask that you protect us from those who seek to destroy our lives by their evil plots and schemes. Father, for those of us whose lives are already affected by the evil plan of others, may we prevail and triumph by your power. Father, may we claim victory in every situation that we face, knowing that Your purpose will be fulfilled in us and no one or nothing can alter Your promises. Abba Father, may we, like Joseph, declare that what our enemies meant for evil will be for our good and will be beneficial to even our haters in due time. Father, while the evildoers indulge in their evil plots, may their actions result in defeat. Father, I pray that every battle against us will be won, and the devil's plan will become null and void. By the blood of Jesus Christ, may we prevail over every plot and scheme of our enemies, and your name be glorified in the name of our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
